This course prepares students to assist in a Physical Therapy Practice. It introduces students to the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes for success in the field of physical therapy at the aide level. It combines independent learning from a textbook, online work, and experience in a clinical setting with a physical therapist. Content includes terminology, clerical skills, technical and therapeutic methods and the role and responsibilities of members of the physical therapy team.
- Prerequisite: Fundamentals for Health Professions (with 80% or higher grade and 80% on final exam) and Medical Terminology (with 80% or higher grade and 80% on final exam)
- Junior/Senior only
- (1) High School credit
- One period, one semester (Fall or Spring)
- Textbook readings and online assignments with (45) hours of clinical (outside of class time)
